CANADA TO WELCOME MORE FEDERAL SKILLED WORKERS

Canada has been ranked among one of the top five countries for the quality of life. They look forward to welcoming skilled workers. Although the year 2020 saw very few immigrants compared to the previous years, the country looks forward to more immigrants in 2021. It is good news for those below 45 years of age, with a minimum of one year of full-time paid work experience in any of the skilled occupations recognized by the National Occupational Classification (NOC). The federal skilled worker’s program is the main pathway to immigration for those skilled workers who are looking for a Permanent Residence (PR) in Canada for themselves and their families. The year 2021 does look promising for the skilled workers, with Canada looking forward to workers who are highly skilled in the coming years.

To apply through the Federal skilled worker’s program, you need to express interest and take the eligibility test. The Comprehensive Ranking Test (CRS) will determine the ranking amongst the eligible candidates who applied. In case you have not fared-well in securing a rank, you can better yourself. The ranking system is not fixed and one can always better themselves if they are seriously looking for a PR. The Canadian government periodically publishes the ranks and invites skilled workers to apply for their Permanent residency.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR A SKILLED WORKER

One can apply for a PR under the Federal skilled program if they qualify. The eligibility criteria include Education qualification, Language ability, age, and experience. The candidate should hold One full year of continuous full-time paid work experience in the past 10 years in a skilled occupation along with a Validated language ability equivalent to the Canadian Language Benchmark in English or French which includes all abilities reading, writing, listening, and speaking and

An educational certificate which is equivalent to the Canadian certification, Diploma or higher. The candidate applying under this program needs to score at least 67 points out of 100. The factors like age, education, work experience, language ability are a few main factors that determine the score.

VISA PROCESSING TIME

IRCC usually processes the visa within six months or less for a skilled worker, sometimes unforeseen measures that may delay the process. When the applicant receives the ITA they need to go through the medical examination and ensure the test results are valid at the time of applying for the PR as well as while entering the country.
